Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy (PT) is the treatment of physical dysfunction or injury by the use of therapeutic exercise and the application of modalities intended to develop, maintain or restore maximum movement and function throughout life. This includes providing services in circumstances where movement and function are threatened by aging, injury, disease or environmental factors. The main objective of physical therapy is to identify and maximize the quality of life and movement potential within the spectrum of promotion, prevention, treatment/intervention, habilitation and rehabilitation. This encompasses physical, psychological, emotional, and social well being. At Hitchcock Healthcare our physical therapy staff has over 75 years of experience between them. Our physical therapy staff has many specialties including pulmonary, cardiovascular, geriatrics, neurologic, orthopedic, aquatic and pediatrics. |
